Walking with my wife and friends along Blacktail/Silver Bow Creek Greenway earlier this week in the heart of Butte America. We were watching the wood ducks, kingfisher, mink, and other wildlife with this beautiful sunset:

Oh, you lucky duck! What beauty surrounds you, and thank you for sharing it!
Beautiful texture in the sky. Great shot!
Magnificent! Great capture..you were there just at the right time!!
That's a beautiful sunset, especially with the mountains in the background and the wildlife all around.
This is the kind of thing I think I could lose myself in. I really think I could stare at it for a lifetime.
Is Butte America a town or does it mean some wider place?
The Crow, yes we are lucky to live here, though the tradeoff is a poor economy and a long winter.
Thanks Rob, Naturegirl, and Janie--just showing up counts for a lot!
Louise, it is enrapturing--sometimes a sunset or a view is so beautiful you have to pull over while driving.
Koala, we say "Butte America" because even though Butte is in the state of Montana, many residents of the state historically "disowned" Butte and considered it "the black heart of Montana." This was because Butte was a prosperous (and dirty) mining city that controlled state politics, which created resentment. Also, by saying "Butte America" residents of the little city emphasized the urban, cosmopolitan nature of Butte that contrasted with other towns in Montana.
Lovely!
This sunset and wood ducks, kingfisher and mink. What a wonderful evening!
ER: It's no wonder they call it big sky country. That sky calls to me.
Beautiful shot! Is that road (at least I think it's a road) part of the greenway or are you at one of the ends?
Spectacular!! Never seen the sky like this before! Well captured :)
Beautiful turbulent clouds like waves on the sea and lovely light and colour. A great combination.

What a great picture. That would have been a site to see while walking. All we get is the sun setting into the Bay.
Bryan, that portion of the Greenway Trail parallels the I-15/90 that cuts through the valley, and there several city roads go over the trail. It's an urban Greenway. Downstream of Butte, the 26-mile long Greenway goes through some fairly remote areas.
