Stories and photos about life along the Continental Divide in Montana between the Clark Fork (westslope) and Big Hole (eastslope) Rivers. Fresh back from a Fulbright in South China, I am looking at American culture/nature through new eyes. Backpacking, cross country skiing, fishing, hunting, hiking... this is the story of a 4-season outdoors person.

Daughter Emily: Then & Now
Then (age 3), fishing at the Nez Perce Battlefield Site near Wisdom, Montana:
Now (age 20), with Evan at the top of Big Butte (overlooking Butte, Montana) on a visit home from Boston University:
They grow up so fast. Enjoy every minute of it. It never occured to me to fish the battlefield! The small museum there was very well done and I noted some Minnesota boys were there with General Oliver Howard. Methinks Wisdom was where me and my boys stopped on the way thru for a gun show & sale once.
You raised that child right, teaching her to fish and hike at age 3! No wonder she's grown up to be sweet and beautiful. Your comment on the carniverous caddis was fascinating.
